Equestrian

Horses provide a sense of ambulation for those using wheelchairs. The rider experiences freedom and independence.

Alpine riders learn grooming, horse care and riding skills from walk to canter depending on their ability.

Conquering fears and making new friends enhances self-esteem and self-confidence.

At the end of the six week program riders are invited to take part in special classes for the Professional Morgan Arab Horse show.

All riders receive blue ribbons for their hard work. They are however tested on their equestrian skills and understanding of such.

Nothing is more fun than success.
Day Outings

Day Outings take disabled youth to where the fun is. From 10am to 4pm Alpine's vans take you to a variety of outdoor recreational activities.

Picking fresh vegtables, at Pyrah Pioneer Peak Farm just outside Anchorage, is always a favorite.

Dog sled rides on wheels are a thrilling summer experience and the young pups are enjoyed by all.

A day at the reindeer farm is educational. The reindeer are also fun to feed!! Surprising the staff is also part of the fun!!

A beautiful day at Portage Glacier. Participants ride a big boat to the face of the glacier while they wait in anticipation for it to calve.

The best fun is when Alpine's kids let down their defenses, make new friends and be themselves ... just kids!!
